First Post

Hey so its my first post! So I made this blog so that people at home like my fam and friends could keep up with my life without having to facebook stalk me, so really this is for your convenience. So I have been in Utah for officially one week and it feels like it has been forever. I was thinking about it today and I was like wow it has only been one week I can hardly remember the drive down it feels like it was so long ago. It is also really wierd that my mom left only yesterday morning because that feels like forever ago. So far I have been really enjoying myself and I have only had a few times where I got a bit home sick. Don't get me wrong I really miss everyone especially my family and the air and tap water in Washington but I have been able to keep my self focused on the bigger picture that I am supposed to be in college now and starting a whole new chapter in my life. Even though it is a bit scary to think that my daily decisions may change the entire course of my life it is also exciting.

I have found that I am only able to make it through the day without having a major break down because I have the Lord on my side. I have a quote plaque on my desk that my mom gave me and it says "In the strength of the Lord, I can do all things". This whole being on my own has given me the oportunity to discover that I am weak without the strength of the Lord but that he is also SO willing to give us strength when we ask in humble prayer. My first week would have been filled with more tears and so much less fun if I had not humbled myself to ask for strength from God.

So to fill some of you in on what I've been up to since I got here in the beautiful state of Utah I arrived last friday at around 7 at night after a long day of driving with my dad. Saturday I met my roommate Kylee(from texas) and we both moved our stuff into "Guido". She is really nice and super fun. We have been getting along great so far and have found a lot of errie similarities. For example we both used to play volleyball but we both stopped because of an ankle injury, we also have the same CTR ring. Kylee had been living in the apartments across the street from wyview (raintree) for about a month because she got a job in the cougar wear department at the BYU bookstore. She moved in officially on saturday and I unofficially moved in on monday but I had pretty much moved all of my stuff in before. We have had a lot of fun exploring Provo and making new friends (Nasty included). On tuesday night we picked up my mom from the airport which was pretty fun because there was a lot of construction so we went on a few adventures around SLC, good thing my grandma was there. Wednesday my other roommate Dahea (Dah-Hey) moved in but she left almost right after to visit a friend in Idaho so I didn't get to talk to her long. We (me+mom) finished moving everything and getting all of the finishing touches for my room, which I love, and even got our own personal interrior designer (my Deborah) to come hang out and help us out. Thrusday me and Kylee walked around campus and figured out where all of our classes were and then later that night we(+ke'ala) helped some guys in a neighboring apartment move in and they turned out to be in our ward. I can't wait to meet more people here it is going to be so much fun! Tonight a bunch of people went to the dollar theater and just hung out and it was a lot of fun. Basically in short college has so far been a great experience and I am having a great time and class hasn't even started yet. Hopefully it will stil be fun/get more fun as the time goes on.
I hope everyone is doing well and I miss you all so much. I am coming back to WA for my sister Olivia's baptism so I will be in town for about 2 days during the 2nd weekend in november so hit me up while i'm there. I hope this wasn't too boring and I will try to make my blogs a little funnier. I also apologize for any spelling/grammer errors. My keyboard sometimes decides to not work and I can't spell anyway. Good night everyone!

Miss you all a lot!
Katie
